Women
Women’s empowerment has been close to Sister Jayanti’s heart for many decades. She was a delegate to the International Women’s Year Conference, Berlin in 1975, which heralded the start of the United Nations Decade for Women. She is a member of the Global Peace Initiative of Women.
She has been a tireless voice in global discussions around manifesting a powerful feminine energy. It is this energy, she believes, that would open the way to a new society in which equality becomes a reality and we can eradicate practices that have been conditioned by outdated educational systems, parenting practices and religious dogma and observances. This shift in awareness gives us access to all spiritual powers and opens up a path that leads to individual empowerment for all.
“Patriarchal society has had a span of around 2,500 years. During that period, on the one side women have been worshipped as goddesses and divine beings and yet on a practical level women have not been given equal rights until fairly recently - and only then in some countries, where equality is there in law, but not really in practice. Women have tiptoed along the path of the feminine principle for some time, but now is the hour to step out with confidence and create a world of deeper meaning, where spirituality inspires us all to achieve excellence and powerful change.”
Since its inception in 1937, The Brahma Kumaris has been a women-led organisation, giving rise to strong examples of feminine inspired leadership. Sister Jayanti believes that women naturally have the necessary qualities to lead humanity into a new era.
